Just got it back from Doc's in Buffalo. Chip switched and all cleaned up. I will sneak out to the parking lot today and hook it up. Only bad part is that Doc is a smoker and I'm a non smoker, can smell it on the case. I'm going to do a quick clean job beofre putting it in. So so far I have way tooo much $$ invested in it. I sure hope that I'm happy with it.

You finally got it back...COOL. Yeah I used to smoke which I think when you quit it makes you hyper sensitive to the smell.I have picked up a few radios over the last couple years since I quit that must have been sitting rite in front of a chain smoker for years.A few I even took the covers off cause they still stunk after a good cleaning and found somehow the underside of the covers and the board inside was all covered in that yellow haze stuff.Makes ya wonder what 20 or so years of smoking did to my lungs affraid Im sure yours will clean up easy though since it wasnt subjected to that for too long.Im sure ,youll be happy with it,he is supposed to be the guy to see when you want one of those little beauties done up.If your not completely satisfied may I suggest R&R in Delaware...THEY ARE FANTASTIC!!!!! hahahahaha Shawn

I grew up in the tobacco belt in southern Ontario. Worked in tobacco at the old age of 13. Hard work and the chemicals are unreal. Some of that sh!t is sprayed on the leafs just days before harvest. I have only on ocassion smoked cigars, thats it, thats all. I took off a cover and its not on the inside.
I have heard by numerous people to send the radio to Doc, so I did. Good guy to talk too as well on the phone, very interesting fellow.

Ya, Al is a good man as well to talk to. I would say that he is one of the honest persons thtaaI've dealt with when it comes to radios. If his shop was closer, I'd be living out in the barn, with tons of radio stuff.
